I also promise to fight for a larger Precinct 1 budget in order to provide better roads and the best service possible for its citizens.”
GOALS:
· Improve the road conditions of Precinct 1.
· Fight for a larger Precinct 1 budget in order to provide better roads and the best servicepossibleto the citizens of Precinct 1.
· Create guidelines and regulations for heavy road use on county roads.
· Use influence and power as Commissioner to make sure the Upper Trinity Water Conservation District rules and regulations do not affect private use water wells.
· See that our county services are kept in line with future growth.
· Use a conservative approach in reviewing the County budget and be fiscally responsible.
· Keep pressure on our state level government officials to protect the interests in Parker County.
· Work effectively with local city governments and school districts in Precinct 1.
· Always be readily accessible to the citizens of Precinct 1.
EXPERIENCE:
· Owner of Hall’s Trucking Excavation & Construction operating successfully for 19 years, a family business established in 1938 by grandfather E.R. “Bird” Harris.
· Previous corporate credit management and banking experience.
· Mentored by Waymon Wright Parker County Commissioner from 1977 to 1997.
· Extensive experience in road building, concrete and asphalt paving.
· Strong administrative and management skills.
· Very knowledgeable of the Texas Local Government Code as it applies to the duties, responsibilities and authority of County Commissioners Court and a County Commissioner.
· Solid understanding of the budget process and will be able to see that the interests of Precinct 1 constituents are protected.
· Able to interpret demographic studies to better plan for the future of Parker County more especially Precinct 1.
